Default Port xjr intake manifold

I was reading the x308 forum and a member has ported his intake manifold. He states that he has gained a solid 1.5 lbs of boost and he is very happy with the results. Is this something that can be done with the xjr6? has anyone took a look at the intake manifold and has seen the possibility of room for improvement?

It is a bit misleading to use boost pressure as a means to quantify performance on a supercharged engine. If you modify an engine in such a way as to allow air to flow more readily through parts of the engine downstream from the supercharger, then you will actually reduce the boost pressure. The SC is displacing the same volume per rev but the restriction on its outlet is reduced, so the boost pressure is reduced. If you fettled the internal surface of the inlet manifold to reduce the losses I would expect the performance benefit to be very small and for the reason above it should not increase boost pressure. Are you sure the owner isn't writing about porting the supercharger itself. Such a modification could increase boost pressure by increasing the volumetric efficiency of the supercharger.

You are correct, what was I thinking. I read this information under the 308 portion of this site. The author posted pics and stated that he had picked up a "solid 1.5 pounds of boost", and that responsiveness was very much improved. I knew that less restriction would cause less boost, dont know what I was thinking, thank you for the schooling.
