Default Powesteering drain/fill?

Do I just pour the atf fluid into the place where you check the level of the powersteering or is there a process to adding fluid? Do I need to drain it first some how? Suddenly I have no power steering fluid when I checked yesterday and heard noise when I made the first turns for a week now only during the first min of driving

Yup!

If the level has become very low you mau have to burp the sytem of air. Slowly turning the wheel lock-to-lock three of four time should do the trick

Perhaps it wasn't sudden at all. It was probably gradual, from a slow leak. When the level dropped low enough to hear noise you suddenly noticed it.

Cheers Doug! You are always a great help. It seems when i put fluid in it stays in the upper portion is that because i havent burped the system yet you think? Or is it supposed to be a real slow adding process? Thanks again!

Try burping it and see if the level drops. If it doesn't, it's full.

If the noise remains ....does it?.....then lack of lubrucation from low fluid level may have caused some damage.

Seems to have fixed it! Thanks again... I did however spill a decent amount of fluid around the perimeter of the fill hole, should I try to vacume it out from around there or is it harmless do you think?
