Pre-Cat Removal on 4.0L

Clarification
So, first I used the wrong emoji:-) the 25hp gain was meant to be a joke. I would guess I got another 5hp from not having the upper cats and sealing a leaking exhaust system. The cost of the Y pipe was $175.00 from SNGB, it is the pipe in the Jaguar Classic Catalog and is a direct fit. I went to a local custom exhaust shop and for an additional $350 they removed the 4 O2 sensors and reinstalled on the new Y pipe. Additionally, they welded a new intermediate pipe to the Y pipe. It is not a bolt on as the original was. I dont know what markets this non-catalyst was sold in. The CEL is on as you can imagine and when I had an inspection 1466 came up, which is the eprom fix. There is literally no change in the sound, I still have underfloor mufflers, cats and resonators at the back.

Downpipe cat section revmoal
I have recently got rid of the cats on my 1995 xj6 x330 4.0 and its running a lot better now fuel economy is up as is the power and it sounds great, I've just got a straight through pipe running to 2 cherry bomb back boxes, it is loud when you put the foot down but quiet enough when sitting at 70/80 on the motor way. Not had any warning lights come on the dash since its been done though I've not seen any sensors on the old cat pipes so I don't know if its a different set up to your car
