This problem is killing mE!!! HELP!!
So a while back i posted up that i had issues with my idle dropping too low when coming to a stop, and the car shutting off when i did come to a stop unless i held the gas. I received numerous responses and since then i have changed the TB, put a new EGR Valve and cleaned the holes as thoroughly as i can with a wire brush, changed the Idle air control valve, changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF, and now i have put a brand new Throttle position sensor, all to no avail! Please, someone help because i have spent way too much on this car to fail! now im stuck with her, theres no aborting!

it does shake slightly, nothing really major. I think its mostly just cutting off cuz the idle drops so low, but it never idles roughly, ever. always a smooth idle. and at times the problem doesnt even occur, the car will ride great and never shut off. but when i turn the car off and then come back to it, the problem comes back most times. id say 9 out of 10 times that i drive the car the problem is present.

Let Me tell a story! Thank To All here!
1997 XJ6.Our 2nd Jag and it has never ran any where like our 1992,I had the stalling out issue, changed TPS,ICV,and then the thing would not start,(only when it had a mind to) So after reading the post here I made an appointment with Hilto Head Jagusr to reset the TPS to the on boaed computor(what a diffrent this has make)It now performed better than ever! Charges were 1.5 hrs labor, had a spare key make for 60.00 bucks.. I am so glad I did this,I was begening to think that this Jag was going to be gotten rid of soon,After (4) years it had become unreliable and just set in the driveway!
Now I can go ahead and fix all of the cosmetic issues!

I agree!
Whether it was the root cause of the idle problem, or not, once you changed the TPS, you must do a TPS orientation with WDS, IDS or other dealer level software to calibrate the idle position. The ECU will not go into the idle adjustment mode if it does not detect idle position, so it will not control.

Thanks to all who posted here! I am happy to report that after everything, changing the egr iacv and tps, and now by adjusting the screw for the tb butterfly, the car is running perfectly! I'm going to bring it to the dealer later this week to have an engine setup done as eddiesue mentioned! Thanks guys! This is by far the best forum!
