Default Problems with a vanden plas

I own a 1995 vanden plas (4.0). While I was out of town thebattery died and someone tried to jump it for me. They said when they tried tojump it the jumper cables started to smoke so they immediately took them off(they thought it was bad jumper cables as they were cheap and this was thefirst time using them). The next day when I got home I jumped the car usinganother set of cables. It started after charging for some time. However now themirror adjustments, power seats, and the driver side window (LH) will notfunction. I checked the fuses with no luck. Any idea of where i should go fromhere?

Thanks,

Chase

Try a hard reset first. Disconnect the negative cable and touch it to the positive terminal.

Sorry I should have mentioned I tried doing a hard reset already without any luck. Thanks though.

Hiya Chase,
Sounds like the jumper cables were put on the wrong terminals, and some electrical systems burned out. Hopefully it would just be switches and not the motors too.

It sounds like the smoking cable essentially took the battery down to nothing. That is the equivalent of a hard reset.

Some of the sytems may require initial setup again.
