Default question about hose clamps....

hi, I just had a question about hose clamps..... Are you supposed to tighten the clamps very tight where you cant turn the screw anymore? or are you sopped to leave it a little loose. I dont want to puncture any of my hoses, because right now I noticed a small coolant leak on the hose just under the air filter that connects looks like to the water pump? Well whatever hose it is, I tighened the clamp very tight and dont see it leaking anymore..... Does anyone know which hose this is anyways?

Typical Stainless hose clamps have a rated durability torque of 50-60 lb-in. Manufacturers usually recommend that they be torqued to 50-70% of this maximum.
