Hi all

I just discovered my car has heated mirrors. I found this out when I touched the mirror and almost burned my fingers off. No the rear demister is not switched on, the heater appears to be running constantly so I removed the fuse for now.

I checked the manual and it appears to suggest I am supposed to have a violet relay in the rear socket closest to the fuse box behind the rh heel board. Well mine is blue. Do you guys think that it might have fried the relay because it's the wrong one? Would I be advised to replace it with a violet relay and see if that fixes it? If not, I have never had heated mirrors so it's not the end of the world if they stay disconnected but it would be nice to fix it.

What year is your car? My wiring diagram calls for a black relay.

Mine is a 97 XJ6L ex-Singapore if that makes any difference

 

Hmmm, just looking at the relay layout for the MY97 and it shows the relay should be black with a blue stripe?
