Default question regarding alternator

question regarding alternator.
so I am looking at doing quite a large stereo install soon.
and I know that doing a big install will mean a potential large increase in current draw.

so my question is.
what size is the x300 alt?
120A if I have read correctly?
was thinking it might be worth rebuilding and up-speccing the alt.
certainly couldn't do any harm.

if you were installing a 100 watt stereo it would still only draw just under 9 amps. (Watts = volts X amps) ie (12 volts X 8.3 amps = 100 watts)
The X300 alternator would hardly notice the increased electrical load.
But please take it easy on the sound output. My 44 year old son who played in a band for years is suffering hearing loss and is looking at hearing aids.
I flew and lived around piston and jet engines for most of my life but because I took precautions my hearing is pretty good.

The original Denso is a 120 amp

The IN435 voltage regulator already installed is a fast responding vs. the IN225 for the bass note draw

With the reliability of the new parts being any good the adage of if it ain't broke .......

I found on mine at 110 K miles the brushes were at half wear

I had fried my VR in installing the battery in backwards but otherewise it was working before

One of the regulator tabs had the screw fused to the brush tabs so had to order both

volume does not equal quality.
quality does not equal volume.

to get good quality audio high end equipment is needed.
this equipment can of course also then play good quality at a loud volume.
but one would not use excessive volume whilst being in the car.
one would use the excessive levels of volume whilst not in the car.

the system i am looking at is a 1000W class D amp running 4 x door speakers @100W and a sub @400W.
now obviously it would probably never ever see the full 1000W draw and would probably see on average less than half the potential volume.
hard to say exactly what the extra draw would be. but would be well in excess of 100W
100W is the power that just one speaker at max could draw.

there is a reason why when you install systems like this you fuse them with a 120A or similar Mega Fuse
1000W class D amp will potentially draw 1250W (when calculate for inefficiency)
@ ideal running voltage of 13.8V would be 90A
or stationary battery only @ 104A

obviously maximum potential draw is not indicative of actual practical draw.
even at 1/3 volume tho could easily draw 30A
or more depending on more bias being toward the sub channel.
