Default rear doors heavier

so i have noticed my rear doors, especially my rear passenger door feel much heavier and have a much different sound and feel when closing.
like there is an insulation of some kind on those that is not on the others?
now i will be removing all my door trims at some point in the future for a speaker upgrade, but will not do it until then.
but when i do what would i expect to see?
i feel like there is a lining or insulation maybe missing from my front doors.
really not sure as i don't know.
just curious as if there is some kind of lining / insulation i may be interested to get replacement

If you have an XJ6L then they are a little heavier because they are longer. Other than that they are all the same

I don’t have a L.
its a clear difference like the rear doors are heavier and more solid.
And more of a full thud when closed. If you opened and closed my doors you would know what i mean maybe it is the door straps cus rears have not been used much for 30 years?

make sure your front door checks are working correct

Spud, I notice the same thing, it is a very distinct difference on my car (a 95 like yours). It is not a bad sound, but if I recall, my 96 cars front doors seemed more "solid". At some point around 96 production the factory started injecting foam into some body cavities to reduce noise and rattles.

The inside of the doors do not have much insulation. Only a rubber sheet on the inside of the outer door panel, along with some insulation on the insides of the inner door panels.

The difference is partly due to more use of the front doors. You could attempt to adjust the door strikers for different effect (some effects not desired), but it is tedious.

If you have lots of wind noise on the highway it is possible to gently bend the entire window frame inward slightly, to improve the seals. Do this with the window open. This worked well for me.

yeah thanks. it is not something that concerns me nor does it really bother me,
it was just the fact i noticed a clear distinct difference it made me curious.

the only thing that bothers me is my drivers door trim has obviously been removed at some point and has had the clips broken so i need to get some new clips and fix it as there is a slight noise/rattle movement when i open and close on occasions.

Seems also that the rear doors maybe actually kind of suck/stick a little to the door seals.
maybe it might be worth looking at replacing my front door seals.
i have noticed some wind noise i want to attempt to reduce.
so would potentially replace
Door seals. And window seals.
Just gotta check and find part numbers. And parts
i did notice some of my window weather stripping needs replacing.

are new door weather strips available?
i noticed that a couple of mine the rubber is pulling away from the chrome.

So was looking to see what is available and at what kind of price,
cus changing old rubbers and seals is never a bad idea.

can’t even find all part numbers let alone stock.
anyone have any help.
parts.roverjag only seems to have parts for some doors not all.

door seal
glass run seal
secondary door seal
waist seal

i assume each door has all 4 of these and is a different part number for each door
