I'm changing the (failed) rear view mirror in my '95 X300. The wiring from the overhead panel to the mirror has a 3 pin connector; wires colored black (ground?) White/Slate & Green/Red. I presume the wires are 12v+, ground & reverse inhibit. The question is which is which?

I tried a couple combinations on a Gentex 261 mirror, and all I got was an "AIRBAG" code, which has since disappeared. Part of my confusion might be that the Gentex has a 16 pin connector. Can anyone help?
