It's a whole bunch of cars.
XJ40 (88-94 XJ6) from 594576 to end of line
XJS from VIN 188105 to end of line
All X300 (95-97 XJ6)
X308 (98-on) to VIN F13120 this includes all number vin cars (98-99)
It may also fit XK8 but I cannot search that.
The change occured in 2000 or 2001 to a totally different part number.

They are not cheap and only available in the aftermarket or used. I searched for one for my car and the best price I could get before shipping was $230.

My local scrap yard has a 1994 XJ6 am I reading that correct that that year will in fact fit my 1997 XJR? Also to remove it. Is it just the one nut and a puller to get ot off?

Thanks

Basically, yes, the hub comes apart with a good yank of a puller. Jag recommended special tools for the separation but experience has shown that the sensor ring is lightly pressed onto the back side of the hub. This light press fit holds it together until you can get the nut on the axle shaft tight.

Yes a 94 will fit, from my research, but only use just the hub. The carriers have different part numbers from 94 to 97 which usually means they are not the same.

The hub is what the wheel bolts to. The carrier is the big aluminum casting that the hub fits into. So, different carriers may use the same hub.

Thanks Doug thought as much but felt better to ask. I hate having to change it but when I was doing the rear brake a week or so back I found that one of the studs just pulled out of the hub and had no threads on it and I have been unable to find just the stud. My local scrap yard will change me $50.00 for the hub complete if I pull it myself..

Bill
