Cool Recharging airco

1995 XJ6 VDP

Hi there,

I went to Sears to have the airco recharged (it is cool but not cold) They refuse to do it becaude the lower AC fan is not on at all times !

I do understand that that fan should be on at all times but when it kicks in the airco is not any colder.

So I would like to try to recharge the airco and see if it helps.

But I have never done this before.

Can someone help me with practical steps to follow do do this at home,

Thank you so much

Why not fix the fan first?

The reason Sears does not want to do it is because the inoperative fan is an existing defect that could cause a "comeback" on the job that is not their fault.

Hi,

Of course it is what they told me. i know this.

With the weather we have here in NC the fans are on at all time or just about and when the fan(s) kick in there is no difference in the temperature of the air coming out of the vents

And the 3 Jaguar bulletins about this problem are rather vague and imprecise. I have seen the "tool" or "fix" on ebay but thta price is outrageous. So I will most probably put the fan on at all times directly
