Reverse light not always working

Reverse light not always working

Hi all,

Just realized that my reverse light does not always come on. What i mean by this, is that i have to tap the gearstick to the left when in R and then it flicks on.

Any idea on how to sort this?

My guess is the rotary switch. That's what lets the car know what gear you are in.

The car has no issues driving in reverse with the light not on. Should I be bothered looking at the rotary switch. Would it be a big job?

Not a big job, but an expensive job. Used switches are going for around $500 these days.
