I got a 1995 X300 with no keys. I figure that if I buy a new Security control module with matching programmed keys and ignition barrel it will work. Looking Ebay I see some sets of key+barrel+SLCM, but they are for key+barrel+SLCM will start the car? and....the SLCM (LNC2600) of 1998 will be compatible with the 1995 x300 (LNA 2600)?

I only want to start the car, that´s all. Thanx

 

Why don't you order new keys at a Jaguar-Dealer? With the VIN they can do that.

 

And, the SCLM from the X-308 is not at all the same. If you legally own the car, getting the keys from the dealer is easy. If you do not- don't ask us for help!

 

This old car is becoming a nuissance, so I will sell it as is. Thank you all.

Odd, ok. Before I posted I called the dealer,and was told to bring the car, etc, etc. The cost of transport, keys and coding amounted to 700€. The cost of buying a used SLM+ barrel + key would be 70€, so I posted my question. Some jerk answered that the car is stolen or something like that, so I decided that the car is not worth any more ****. So you tell part of the story and don't like my comment. I bought a key for my X-300 from the dealer for $ 75.00. and did not have to take the car there. Thinking about it now, the european X-300 has a security chip in the key that we do not, so maybe it is more trouble to get a new key. But at 700. euro it sounds like they are tryng to rip you off.

 

Absolutely agree with your comment, there are individuals who acts wrongly and pretend to know it all.
