Default Series three body part interchangability question

Are all Series 3 XJs body parts interchangable?

Or would i have to stick to 95-97

Might go buy an 97 XJ8 in need of hood, bumper, drivers side fender and passenger rear quarter panel.

Just wondering what i could make work. What i could frankestien if possible.

New to the forum but ive already absorbed alot

Any help would be great!

Cheers!

Wink Ummm, no

Heh, that's a lot of "impossibles" there

The Series III will have zero part interchangeability with the X300.

There was no 1997 XJ8 (X308) in North America, the X308 began with the 1998 model year in North America.

This might help:

XJ Lovers - XJ6, XJ12 Series III (1979-93) JCNA C 12

Jag-lovers - Model Information

Now if you are asking of some X300 and X308 parts are interchangeable, the answer is a qualified "yes", but not as many as you might think, although a lot of the exterior is.

This will tell you what parts go with each Jaguar model, and if any are interchangeable:

My personal opinion... walk away unless you are buying it as a parts donor. It is probably not worth repairing.

If only the front were a minor shallow hit, maybe, but it's a deep hit and the back is a write-off. Other than the doors and roof, every panel is in play for repair and the unibody frame is bent in the rear in such a way that is usually the death knell for these cars

And overall, the car looks like it has likely had a rough life with deferred maintenance based on the interior condition and clear coat loss, which does not bode well for all the other bits such as electronics and drive train.

As they say, buy the most expensive Jaguar you can afford, otherwise you will soon spend more catching it back up. This one would probably eat you alive in restoration cost, when you could just get a better car for the same or less.

OTOH, if you up for a multi-thousand $ project, and are determined to resurrect this X308, anything is possible.

And on that note, this post really belongs in the X308 forum I'm sure someone will move it.
