Spark plugs are wet, how to correct problem?? Help asap
I have a 96' XJ6 VDP, my spark plugs are wet which keep making my ignition coils go bad. How can I go about fixing this issue, is it my gasket or what?? My car can't drive because of this issue. Help asap thanks.
Assuming the "wet" is oil, and not water??.
Simple fix.
Remove the cam cover, and the 6 spark plug tube seals.
Purchase said camcover gasket and 6 seals, AND, the seals for the 14?? bolts that hold the camcover in place.
Refit with a smear of RTV on the spark plug seals.
DO NOT overtighten the cover shanked bolts, coz it matters not how tight you pull them down, they will NOT crush the gasket anymore. They swill simply snap off, and you will be sad.

if the spark plugs are wet the engine won't start.
If you mean the oil leak which gets the Coil boot wet - Grant Francis gave you a detailed answer.
Mainly a small leak is not a big issue I have had this on almost all of my BMW M50 engines and they worked fine.
