Default speedo abs track fail

Speedo quit working on 96 xjr. Get abs and track fail light too. Thinking the wire from tranny might a problem. There evidently had been a lot of movement as the mount needed replaced. Anyhow, will OBD I scanner tell me anything? How do I find where to begin if there is not obvious damage at the tranny wire? Also had brakes done while at shop (pads and rotors all around).

The obd scanner will not help, these are Jaguar specific codes. I believe the left rear wheel sensor provides input for the speedo, hopefully some one will correct if I'm wrong. Look for a break in the cable, but it may not be obvious from the outside.

I agree with RJ. Begin with checking the left rear wheel speed sensor and wires.

According to the wiring diagram, vehicle speed is on a Green/Black (GK) wire which comes out of the ABS control unit. Might be worth a look there if the sensor checks out.
