starting probs
my x300 starts good from cold, however if i stop the engine and restart after a couple of mins it will not have it. Very embarrasing at fuel stops. It can then take up to about 3/4 attempts to fire up. I suspect some cold start sensor or air metering issue. Any help please Robin

if you mean fault codes then no, not sure where to start with it as it runs a dream with no mechanical issues. The only thing i would say is that when in cold state the engine turns over on the key for a good 5/6 seconds before fire up. It has to stand for at least 20mins to restart normally. when it will not start it take up 8 attempts on the key and you get the feeling it could be over fueling ie some kind of cold start sensor or cold tickover stuck on. was going to start with air flow meter/device. thanks for reply

The issue, yes, has to do with too much fuel in the intake...ie flooding essentially. I've noticed it happens with a lot of Jags. I'll see if I can find a link to another post I've seen on the forums about this, as well as other references.
