The accelerator on the X300 4 liter sticks at higher than normal revs at idle sometimes. You kick the accelerator pedal and it returns to normal.

I have oiled the mechanism, cleaned the air box and oiled the cable. It still happens. This is a pain as otherwise the car is perfect and great to look at and drive.

Any ideas anybody?

Common fault, read all the TSBs in the sticky section for your car and you will find all kinds of info.
