Tell me about x300 brakes...
Hi fellow Jag-ers,
Just wondering of anyone knows if the XJR brakes are the same as the 3.2, 4.0 and 6.0 litre n/a models?
Also, are they interchangeable with X308 or XK8/XKR items?
Reason I ask is that I took my XJR up for a 'spirited' midnight fang to the hills, and by the time I got to the bottom again, I'd well and truly cooked them! The discs were glowing dull-red and the pedal had gotten quite soft. I'm looking at some way of upgrading the rotors (on top of fluid + pads obviously...), such that I can still keep the original 17inch wheels, but x300 xjr aftermarket rotors seem to be a bit elusive.
Regards,
Jeremy

Thanky muchly
Hi. The brake calipers are all the same, but you can't use X308 rotors to X300s. It is because the front hub is different. If you want to replace your braking system with a bolt-on tuned one, you have to buy an expensive AP set or Arden set. Or you might be able to order some original braking systems to some tuning company. Then you would have to change your wheels too.
