Default Trip computer stuck on miles

As title says my trip computer is stuck on the miles setting.
and being in AUS i want it on KM but the switch does not change it.
is this something others have seen before?
i noticed cus my fuel use readout goes up on freeway driving and down in heavy traffic indicating it is set on MPG.
I can flick the switch from miles to km and nothing changes at all.
best i can do for now is know that 16.8 is the point where MPG and L/100KM is the same

You probably do not need to replace the switch but just jumper it once to switch it over and then remove the jumper

It's probably a momentary contact switch like the reset and clear button on the same package

What needs to be done to access the switch?
is it just one bit of the plastic trim that needs to come off?

if you can pull the connector off just ground the Red color wire to ground

the ignition switch probably needs to be in the run position

See edit above

ok, so fixed.
nice and easy.
took out the pcb, saw the solder joints on the back for the switch were gunked up, got out the isopropyl and a tooth brush... gave her a nice clean...
bada bing bada boom. working. now if only all problems were this easy.
