Default Two little questions.

First off, my remote key fob has finally given up the ghost after a period of intermittent operation. I took it apart and found that the tiny little microswitch on the "lock" button seems to be stuck in position. The "unlock" button sticks occasionally and stays on, which upsets the whole sequence. Attempts at cleaning/freeing haven't helped, so I'm looking for a (budget) replacement.

What alternatives are available that would work? FWIW I'm in Ireland, so it's a European spec car.

Secondly, I've noticed a rubbing sound sometimes, when I turn slightly hard to the right, like turning off the road into my drive, as opposed to a more gentle turn. The sound seems to be coming from the rear, drivers side wheel area, on my RHD car. It sounds like the tyre is rubbing against something and only lasts a second or two, while making the turn. Any thoughts? I haven't investigated too much as the weather here is too miserable at the moment, and my garage is full of junk! Any thought appreciated.

Button covers are available direct from Jaguar Classic Parts for small money (I bought 2 sets last year as I'm sure stocks will dwindle)

As for the rubbing sound as per original post you will need to get it up in the air and investigate.

Check out the lower arm pivot bearings, rear wheel bearings and diff output bearings.

Pivot bearings are prone to seizing and disintegration and a cheap and straight forward repair.
