Default Vacuum line missing in this picture?

Hello. I hope everyone is doing well.
I removed my airbox to check for worn/corroded vacuum lines & I notice on this device below the airbox had a little "nipple" missing a line or is it normal for that to not have anything going to it? I hope the pictures below help. Thank you.

If anyone happens to take off their airbox for whatever reason please look and tell me if there's suppose to be a vacuum hose there or not. The engine is shaking a little & I'm still trying to diagnose problems. My XJ6 had a similar issue and it was a corroded vacuum line.

I believe that module is for the cruise control. Does yours work? If so, this might be a normal air vent... More advice will come along here soon.

Ericbilt,

I thought I had seen mine like this picture before, and I was right. Mine looks like this too. It is indeed for the cruise vacuum acutator, and all is well in my system. However, I don't know if it is possible that this gizmo could affect the idle quality. But I doubt it.

BTW, Sweet, sweet XJR.....

Thank you. I actually figured out the idle problem, It's the throttle cable & it looks like a pain in the you know what to replace.

I notice you have an XJR and an XJ6 VDP, which car are your referring to?

I may be totally incorrect here, but I believe the hose is fitted to XJR only and not the N/A XJ6. I removed the air box on my N/A XJ6 to replace it with a direct air intake system and there was no hose fitted.

I was referring to the XJR, but it seems to be normal. I think my idle issue is from my cracked exhaust manifolds I discovered yesterday and the throttle cable.
