I have a 1995 XJ6. Almost mint interior and good exterior. It has 224,000 miles and some hoses need to be replaced as well as the water pump. Mechanic said its around $1500 worth of work.
For resale, I'm not sure what to ask for it. $1000?

Can't go wrong @$1500 imo. No running car in decent shape should fetch less. I personally would not sell it to someone who planned on taking it to a mechanic as opposed to doing the work themselves since they'd easily rack up a bill more than they paid for the car in short order. Those who do their own maintenance are generally more realistic in their expectations of an 18yo vehicle sniffing a quarter million miles.

 

I put it up for $1500 and got two hits right away.
