What interiors can I use x300
I have a 95 x300 xj6 and my wood trim is kinda rough. And the seats are showing their age. If I was looking at parts cars what interiors could I use besides obviously x300s.
I was looking online and the 94 models look similar and the x308 xj8s share a similar body style so could I use either of these or should I just try to hunt down another x300?

Its probably best to hunt down X300 interior parts. There are a few parts that will swap from the XJ40 (93-94) and X308 (98+), but not many.
The XJ40 is more similar to the X300 but there are slight differences in the shape of the wood trim, door panels, seats and console. I once tried to fit an XJ40 upper door trim to my X300 (they look identical at first), but it needed some modifications to actually fit anywhere near correctly.
None of the wood trims of the X308 will fit the X300.
I believe the seats from either car will bolt in, but you may have trouble with the seat memory functions. The seatbelt latches are all different too.
I think the console lid and cupholder will transfer between cars.
Hopefully others have tried things and can report on their success. Or failure.

pretty sure the door panels are all identical from the XJ40 down.
The X308 door cards will fit the doors, but the issue will be whether the front doors will close. The ends of the dashboard are sculpted to blend into the doors, and I can’t remember whether the X308 dash is sculpted in a compatible way.
swapping the entire dash would ultimately be possible, but likely a biblical amount of work to get everything working. As a small example, the tachometer is for an 8 cylinder so would likely need recalibrated.

The tach was something I was concerned about. It's just hard to find x300s around me. I keep browsing auction sites looking for a vdp that's salvaged I really want to bring this car back to factory spec. Or well upgraded factory I want vdp interior into a base model but those picnic tables are just so awesome in my eyes.
The wood trim comes off the door cards and dash, so you should be able to replace yours without stripping the whole interior if it is otherwise ok. Try ebay.co.uk, as they are more plentiful over here, and the trim wouldnt be expensive to ship.
