Default Where is the oil pressure sender unit located

Jaguar XJ6 1979 December Series 3. I am not a mechanic so not sure where to look. Problem is oil gauge was working and now not working. Been told could be sender unit??

You actually want the Series I-II-III forum, as this for cars from 1995-97. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/

However, you'll find the oil pressure sender on top of the oil filter housing, right side of the engine ( drivers side for a RHD car) down low. It's a round piece about 2" across and should have a terminal for a single wire out the top.

They do fail. If you are ordering a replacement, be aware that they come in 2 ranges, 0-60 psi for earlier cars and 0-100 psi. Buy whatever matches your dash gauge.
