Default Who has a car phone in their Jag?

I have searched, but have not found a lot of info about the phones put in these cars. My XJR came with a motorola phone on a mount up front. But I have seen pictures of two different mounting styles for phones besides my own. There appears to be a microphone up front near the windshield and the phone antennae was glued to the rear window. Were the phones also meant to work through the car's speakers? I know these are analog phones so they can't be used on the US digital networks anymore

So anyway I thought it would be interesting to see more pictures car phones in the X300. Here is the phone in my car.

This is also a "Theme" for me.
I'm in the process to install the mobile-phone in my car. But I still miss the microphone attached to the roof-console and the Console-lid with Phone-holder (Alternative to your console which is attached beside the center-console.)

If you have the installation-Kit for the X300 the phone should work over the loudspeaker of the Stereo (stop music and rings) and the microphone on the roof-console

wow, that brings back some memories. When I had my headliner redone, I had already removed the phone and thought the installer would take the mike and antenna out, but he left them in. Anyway, my phone was mounted on the side by the passengers left knee and looked like yours, It never worked with the mike or through the speakers. I used the speaker on the bottom of the phone for hands free.

I had a 'phone in my X330 when I took ownership. It had a metal plate fashioned to fit under the wooded ski slope. I removed it when I worked on the clock, but left the wiring and microphone in place!

The other mount I have seen is in the console armrest, not inside and underneath, but in a recess built into the top of the armrest. You lose the cupholders and the "comfort" of the armrest in that model.

the cabin area is already small and tight putting those phonesnear the leg room area will make the ride of your passenger even worst.

In Europe there was either a built-in Motorola available - headset with spiral-wire and also a portable/Mobile. Both in black or wooden style.

Do you have a picture of what this looks like? The idea of a wood-trimmed phone is hilarious, if quite Jaguar.

Its actually not that bad with the phone there. I don't really want to remove it just because I think the car phone is cool.

Here is a pic of wooden phone, stored in the console lid.
I will try to make a pic of the german brochure where you can see both.
