After searching this forum for info I decided to try to fix my inoperable luggage compartment lamps. Upon inspecting the wires at the hinge I discovered two severed wires. I repaired them, hoping they were the culprits....they weren't!

Anyone know what the yellow/orange wire is for?

How about the black/white wire?

Those are the ones I repaired and I can't think of anything else that wasn't working that those might affect. I searched the wiring diagrams and only found a couple of those color wires - but neither of those appeared to be the ones I repaired.

Keep in mind that my MGB wiring diagram covers one page....and I have most of those (few) colors used committed to memory! The XJ6 is a whole different story!!!

Also, where is the switch for those lamps, and how is it accessed? I'll see if the switch is the problem next....

 

There's not that many wires that can be run on 4 fuses.

 

The Jag has about as many fuse BOXES as the MG does FUSES!
