Default X300 3.2 front coil spring replacement

Evening all

I did my rear shocks and springs 3-4 years ago as the car was sitting low at the rear. The foam doughnut thing at the top was basically disintegrated so renewed everything. The front is now very low and it scrapes over speed humps. How hard is it to change the front springs and the top mount rubber/foam etc. as I did on the rear? Obviously shocks as well whilst I am in there.

Thanks
Sam.

If you don’t have a spring compressor, this task could be extremely difficult and dangerous. I recommend checking the tool lending section on JCNA.com or reaching out to someone on this forum for a homemade solution. However, even with a homemade tool, without the proper spring compressor, there’s always a risk of a life-threatening scenario. Proceed with caution.

G'day Sam,

If you search the X300 forum for 'spring compressor' you will get over 50 hits and find all the information you need.

Look at the top of the threads and you will find a "Search this Forum" prompt.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Here in the US the common auto parts stores have dedicated tool kits you can barrow which in my case for a non - Jaguar came in 2 different spring compression tool styles

Very rugged built and safe

Better safe than sorry and don't trust your judgement on what is OK

This is an example of their loaner program
