x300 4.0l xj6 engine won't turn off
Hi all
Heres a strange one but I would assume possibly fairly simple. My engine would not stop on the Jag today - ignition turned off and key out - engine still running. Did not stop so put key in again and turned on and off again - this time stopped. Is this likley to be the ignition switch ? or a stuck relay ? Any thoughts ?

You can swap the right engine bay fuse box relay ( called the ignition positive relay ) to the left engine bay fuse box relay ( in reality only runs the horn )
If the horn stays on a bad relay has followed to that position
Yu will have to actuate the horn several times to see if this happens
The ignition switch provides a ground path to command the relay closed and in removing and reinstalling the relay with the key out of the ignition switch and the relay clicks you have a unwanted ground path .
