Default x300 4.0l xj6 engine won't turn off

Hi all
Heres a strange one but I would assume possibly fairly simple. My engine would not stop on the Jag today - ignition turned off and key out - engine still running. Did not stop so put key in again and turned on and off again - this time stopped. Is this likley to be the ignition switch ? or a stuck relay ? Any thoughts ?

Ta Matt

You can swap the right engine bay fuse box relay ( called the ignition positive relay ) to the left engine bay fuse box relay ( in reality only runs the horn )

If the horn stays on a bad relay has followed to that position

Yu will have to actuate the horn several times to see if this happens

The ignition switch provides a ground path to command the relay closed and in removing and reinstalling the relay with the key out of the ignition switch and the relay clicks you have a unwanted ground path .

But the ECU controlled relay is controlled by the ECU and powers the fuel injectors as well as some of the engine regulation sensors and even come back into the ECU as the 2nd power source
