Hello everyone Im new to these forums of course, I just bought this Jag (94 XJ6), and I went move it from the driveway this morning, it started fine, the wheel was kinda hard to turn, so I took it out of reverse then to park, about a minute later I got back it to start it again and the key would not turn to crank. The odometer is reading jumbled characters and the radio clock is flashing. I know you guys can help me... I hardly have any idea what it could be other than ignition coil. Please help, I will return the favor when I can.

 

If the ignition key will not turn after you have inserted it into the switch, try waggling the steering wheel a bit whilst trying to turn the key. This is because there is a steering locking pin that is released by the key, and it can stick a bit when you first try to turn the key. If it is not this, please describe symptoms more fully.
