On my 1996 JAGUAR X300 3.2L

I need to CHANGE my BATTERY
because the current one is leaking...

But,

On the current one, I no longer have the registration and it's not suitable anyway (which causes electrical problems).

So:

Can you tell me:

- WHICH BATTERY do I need?

The North American spec is H8, MB88, Group 49.(basically a big 900 CCA battery)

TSB we got when I was at the dealer.

 

Interstate brand over the years is a good brand compared to the cheaper brands

there is the consumer report magazine that has them listed by rank as batteries are not cheap

Never install battery backwards , positive post fwd , mark with tape and marker arrow , a shop will also put in backwards

Never over tighten the positive post bolt , splits special nut underneith

 

In the UK the battery is a Type 019

My 96 XJ6 had the smaller group 29 battery which the battery compartment is designed to accept as well. I replaced it with another 29. 3 years ago, all is good
