Default Suitable battery

Hello, I own a 1996 P reg X300 3.2 Executive which has been off the road for the last seven months. I've been running it every week or so but the battery has stopped holding charge. Could someone tell me the capacity/type I need to replace it with for this car and possibly suggest a brand that would be good for use in a car that will only be used once a week or less. Cheers, Ben.

Thankyou very much. I've looked up a Varta battery, an Ultra Dynamic no 570 901076. Shall check the dimensions and order. Thanks again for your advice. Nice signature by the way, who is she?

She reminds me of Debbie Harry back in the Blondie days. Never mind the battery talk, I still get at least a trickle charge every time I see the pic

OK back on topic... [sm=smiley2.gif]

The OEM radio to my MY97 VDP stopped working suddenly last Saturday night. I got out of the car and noticed the antenna didn't retract, then later discovered that the radio was dead.

Off on a business trip all week, I came home yesterday to see that now the entire car is dead.

Simple to think it's the battery, but the radio dying first makes me wonder if there's something else going on.

I don't think I can buy a Varta battery here in the USA but will get recommendations from the local Jag dealership this morning and start eliminating the variables.

If it's not the battery, it will be interesting to theorize what else might be the cause.

UPDATE: Phew! Just the battery. Interstate Mega-Tron battery is what's used here in the States, $174.00. Radio turned on too so all is well. Yay!
