X300 central locking doesn't work post accident
A 53 foot truck tore up the side of my parked XJ6 the other day and dragged it 6 feet. Since then, the car won't lock. The four locks go done with a turn of the key but they all come back up and give a warning beep. Is there a trip device that auto unlocks the doors if it's in an accident? There doesn't seem to be anything fouling the locking mechanisms that I can see.
Apart from that, the truck took out the drivers window, mirror, windshield, front wing and bumper. I don't have collision insurance so I'm trying to bodge her up myself.

There is a Inertia Switch ( crash switch ) located on right front passenger / driver side right foot area on the forward wall that may have tripped causing the Security System to unlock the doors . This is a design feature . There is a rubber booted reset button on the switch to press . You can jumper around the switch for I understand the switch itself as a mechanism does't always reset . The system my be out of sequence post crash and a Jaguar " Hard Rest " has restored some of my Security hiccups .
