X300 clock
The good news! I just fixed the ribbon on the module and now the clock works perfectly. However, before I fixed the clock the LED's were working. Now the clock works, but the bad news, now I have no LED back lighting! The fix for the clock was just re-attaching the cable strap more securely. Are the connections to th LED's incorporated in the strap? Maybe I need a new strap. Any clues? Any help will be greatly appreciated. JY

I don't think I'm an idiot as far as reading and comprehending repair instructions, but I tried repeatedly to fix two different X300 clocks using the JagLover's instructions and had no more than fleeting success. Then I bought a unit from an eBay vendor who promised me that the clock was working perfectly when he shipped it to me. That's when I felt like an idiot.
Hi Guys!
What I did was to reconnect the clock after removing from the module. When I applied pressure to the ribbon I saw various sections coming back to life. I then disconnected the clock, and on a bench, I applied pressure to the connections by firmly rubbing a small plastic screwdriver handle over the adhesive on the end of the ribbon which secured it. After reconnecting the clock, most of the digits came back on. To complete the job I also used a strip of card about 3/16" thick to hold it together under pressure. All of the digits are now working, and the clock has performed perfectly since.

Here is the link to a company that actually repairs the X300 clocks. The even put LEDs in place of the hot lights that caused the problem with the ribbon to begin with.
They charge $75 per module and have a pretty good turn around time.

Hi, new member here, my clock is faded, it is the type with no other buttons on the module. If I remove the clock to send for repair, will it affect anything regarding normal driving `till it is re fitted?
I`ve been used to a "hole" in the dash whilst my radio was away for repair, twice!
