I wonder if you can help me.

My 1995 XJR-6 has been using water, and it seems a bit of oil. There is an excess smoke on acceleration and poor idling. My father noticed what appeared to be smoke blowing straight up from the engine bay but not from the oil filler or dipstick. I have done a compression test and all cylinders are at 150psi or within a few lbs.
Any ideas where to look would be very welcome. I am hoping it may be a pipe or something simple but I am never that lucky.

Quick update,

now found a water leak in the radiator. Only problem now is the smoke...wondering if there may be a blocked breather or something similar ?????
