@adam, there is a box under the supercharger that 2 pipes come out of and run to the boost coolers on each side.
Show us more pics. I'm glad that this project is finally showing more momentum.

What rear end did you end up going with? I recall you said 3.55s. Did you get the TCM reprogrammed?

I've known about all that for years from the turbo world, I have a built eclipse too

I know that you can't really take what works for other platforms and apply it to another, but most boosted cars share the same basic building techniques like the video you posted, as what they do is the same in the turbo 4 banger world.

I am however, clueless on this v8 platforms ability to take power and certain tricks that could be useful in helping it hold together... but I just don't see why pulling the heads is necessarily a given if everything is done correctly the first time.

Until I'm lifting them under load they are staying put

Who says that sound was even Thundercat's car? Heck, the planet might run out of petrol before the car runs again.

Just re-torqueing will take some time as you need to remove the cams, pulling the heads even more, and from history, time is not what they seem to have.

Then some good time is needed to make everything work together electronically wise, it’s one thing to have the engine started, it’s another to having all tuned right, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it stays quiet here until next year before some dynos will pop up, but who knows.

He did not say THIS friday. He meant next February 29th. 2022. See I've cracked the code.

Thundercat will still have the last laugh when his car is on the road in 2012, and then even more so on the track which I predict will be early 2013.

and the Mayan calendar was to end in 2013, not begin.

That being said, I would be shocked to see a video of that car on the road this friday.

I know. They've been waiting for this car to be completed way longer than this forum....

Being a procrastinator myself, I can surely understand this project taking a long time. But, all of the original hype makes this lack of outcome pretty funny.

I have just spent some time reading this thread & frankly I am disappointed.
I can't imagine any serious owner considering even considering allowing BIP to undertake vehicle performance mods.
I can't even see from the profile who BIP is, & I don't know what a "Whipple 2.9" is.

Performance improvements are generally broadly classed as mild, extended or extreme & I assume this poster can offer all.
Extreme will usually include brake, suspension & transmission mods as well as engine output & a "good job" will result in a driveable & reliable vehicle where all handling & braking issues are matched to the power plant.
700 bph is 167 hp per litre for a 4.2 jag engine, so I guess the original engine was of higher capacity. Whatever it started as the hp per litre looks too high for a road car.
If posters equiped to do such mods introduce themselves here they need to take the forum members more seriously.

Google it peter if you dont know what a whipple is and 700hp too much. Please. I have a 87 suburban with a fuel injected 383 and nitrous thats 700hp and its a tow vehicle. And currently rebuilding the 4litrev6 engine in my 05 nissan frontier(navara) and going to a much larger blower from ken bell
(2.6) size in litres. And looking to up the output to the rear wheels from 330 to 400+ and this is in a 4x4 5500# truck i drive daily and offroad and rock crawl with....bip has stuff out there and other cars theyve done to. But you cant get anything done if youre online allday either aas i know sometimes tooo well
