Default '00 Vanden Plas - Location of Flasher Relay

To all,

Can someone please let me know where the flasher relay for turn signals is located on a 2000 Jaguar Vanden Plas (XJ8) - I need to replace it. Also if someone has a picture of what is looks like as I am not sure of the number of pins on it 2 or more?

Thanks in advance for the help.

What is wrong with the turn signals?
The BPM controls the turn indicator functions.

You could turn the hazard lights on and check every exterior flasher bulb prior to jumping ahead of the easy things first. It would actually be a good time to check every exterior bulb just to make sure they aren’t a smokey color. If there’s any doubt, replace them.m first then reevaluate your turn signals.

Actually, technically there is nothing wrong with the actual directional lights - I replaced all of them with LED lights and they look great, they also flash correctly on the outside. The issue is in the cab as the arrows on the dash flash very quickly vs. the normal pace. What I have read is I need to replace the standard flashing relay with and LED flashing relay. However, first I need to find the current one and secondly see how many pins etc are on it so I purchase the proper LED version.

Thanks again,
Dave Mc

Well, as motorcarman stated, the turn signals are controlled by the BPM (Body Processor Module). There’s no turn signal relay to replace unfortunately.

There is not enough current draw for the LEDs so the BPM is faulting the circuit.
The current draw is calculated for the incandescent bulbs and the resistance does NOT ADD UP.

The rapid flashing is an indication of a failed bulb. (lower than expected current draw)

Your bulb replacement should be done with a CAN Bus LED for what Bob states.
I used... https://www.superbrightleds.com/ They are easy to contact for info as well.
