I have a 6" scratch from between the headlights up. I suspect it was a rock. Anyhow, I want it blended so as to preserve as much of the original finish as possible. A local shop agreed it could be spotted but said they would have to shoot the whole hood with clear since it is two-stage.

That may be true, but I'm not sure. I brought some touch up paint for my 06 white Subaru and the order was adjusted because it was clear coated; not so for the Jag which was ordered at the same time.

You did right sourcing info and I am sure you will get good advice shortly?


I am sure your paint would have been 2 stage, with a pearlescent clear laquer on top, so I think it will do the job, but I am speaking as

a novice in that department and I'd take your time over that if I were you, you want the right job done!
