To the crank/supercharger pulley. I can't see anything that obvious on why it's doing it. I'm about to take fan assembly out, and see if there's anything. But any ideas?

 

I had this problem too, car was crashed twice and somehow the shroud fell out of its slot and rubbed on the pulley. Never noticed it and one day it sliced into the bottom fan motor and the top one was running hi speed all the time.

You have to unbolt the fans and look from the bottom of the radiator where the three little retaining plastics are. All you have to do is slide the shroud into them and you’re good to go.

 

Gotcha. I just took the assembly out. I see the 3 clips. I'll see if I can install it correctly. You can see where the motor has already rubbed in the pic.

 

 

Found the problem. Took the lower bumper piece off(held on by torx bolts) off of my other 02 xjr. And see the issue is the radiator isn't sitting right on my other xjr.
