Spot on, and with very few exceptions almost no engine is picky about oil. Use the oil recommended by the OEM, end of story.

I love it! This topic is ALWAYS interesting on every car forum I have ever been a part of. The Madison Avenue "Madmen" would have us believe that this is a matter of grave and highly technical concern. To resurrect a time-worn retort:

Read (and follow!) the manual.
Use synthetic if you can afford it (and when "on sale" it is not much more than dinosaur debris).
Change it at least as often as the manual instructs, more often if it makes you feel better!
