1998 xjr rumbling bearings in supercharger

I am contemplating a purchase of 1998 xjr - 100k miles, that apparently has some bearing noise coming from the supercharger. Is this a common fault and is it fixable and at what likely cost. I already have an xj8 3.2 (2000 W) and have had the water pump replaced / timing chain tensioners checked as latest spec, so know what I am up against.
Many thanks if you could help

Our XKR has bearing issues. At first I thought it was just the plastic coupler.. replaced that, which made it worse (stock is dampened by a spring, aftermarket is solid). Looks like a rebuilt unit will run about $600. Not too hard to change it.. just need a bunch of gaskets.
My 00' XJR is making the same noise. I am thinking about buying this kit on ebay to correct thge problem.

I have a 98 XJR and have had no issues with the supercharger. There is a snout rebuild kit available on ebay for around sixty bucks. However the main body of the unit is around 800 canadian for a rebuilt unit with core exchange. I missed a complete supercharger on ebay that went for 120 bucks, and would have used it as a 'spare', which might have been silly, but the price was right. Don't like to remember that miss...
