1999 XJ8

I just bought a beautiful 1999 XJ8 and would like your opinions on the car.

Does it have black interior? That is my favorite by far. All the others look great, but the few cars that come with black interior look the best in my opinion. Other than that, I love the cars as do most around here. post some pictures if you want,I've only been here for a few days, but alot of these guys are pretty loyal and knowlegeable about their Jaguars.

Would you like a general opinion about XJs? Or an opinion on your particular car?

I just posted pics of mine....I like them. Some say I punish my wife by making her drive it.....lol. She loves it too.

I will try to put up pics of mine sometime. I own a '99 XJ8, British racing green with tan interior. I love the car, but I am sweating the timing chain tensioner issue a bit.

They are really fine cars. The chain issue needs to be addressed before it creates a BIG problem. Make sure you have the metal upper tensioners. You may also hear people talk about the Nikosil in the cylinders, but it's really not an issue.

As far as the tensioners go - I am hoping to make them hold out until my tax rebate comes. That is about the only way I will be able to pay for the repair.

I can't believe that no one has hauled Jaguar into court for this to force a recall.
