I have a bad body processor module. The part number is LNC2500CG/017. If I purchase a used one with the same part number and vcats suffix(017) will it plug and play or does it have to be programmed or configured to the car by the dealer? Have gotten different answers from various sources, don't know what to do.

in theory, same part no# and program suffix, it should work, disconnect the battery to remove and install. Even if it requires programming it shouldn't be more than an hour to do at the dealers.

What's the fault on the original?

The trunk got wet and the security and control module, and the trunk fuse box caused tail and break light failure along with the trunk open message to stay on. All fuses good. Replaced Security and control module with identical used one(same part # and vcats suffix). Also replaced fuse box with used one with same part #.Problems still there. Mechanic says Body Processor Module tail light section got fried. Hmmm? Dealer wants $1,000 for new one. Owch!
