Lucky me, I had both fuel pumps quit working in no where I-5 California. Saturday night about 9:30. No parts stores with in miles. I replaced the 2 pumps with a single large pump from a camero that my employee had and brought with him in one of my service trucks.
I wired the pump with both leads of pump 1 and 2. The car ran well at first. About 20 miles it acted like it was short of fuel. Being easy and lifting on throttle it would stay with slower traffic on the free way. I would let the car rest alot and start it and go. It seamed to run well off the start but slowed as more time was used. The engine would go in and out of safty derate. With no noticable change in performance.
I Installed two new pumps after getting it home. It is worse now. Running out of fuel. Or so it seams. New filter was installed too.
Help??
