Default 2000 XK8 no air thru dash vents

PaLEEEZE... The fans are running, I pulled the glove box and can see the door open and close from defrost and dash positions. The fans rev up to high speed but can barely feel anything out of the dash on either side. Is the evap coil totally blocked or something not hapening in the air distribution box? How do I get to either if needed.

The wife came home from the store today in a funky shade of red from overheating. In south Florida no a/c is not a good thing. At least not for her, or my sanity.

Thanks,
Angelo

Are you sure both fans are running? If you have both I would guess that one of the servo motors is not functioning and keeping the flaps in the wrong position.

I THOUGHT they were, but I can only see the one under the glove box running. I see the housing for the other I believe between the brake pedal and lower dash panel under steering wheel. I feel no fan vibration or noise from there. As soon as the rain stops here I will research further.

THANKS for the reply, my first Jag. I can do anything on my vette or Pantera, but this machine....... STEEP learning curve.

Thanks,

Angelo

Fan on the drivers side is not running. I found and checked the relays, both are good. I even swapped them to make sure. I can feel the relay closing for the LH fan motor so the control circuit seems ok. I have no power on the line side of the relay. #3 if I remember right. If I give 12v to the load side of the connector, I get the fan to come on. I checked all of the fuses on the drivers side fascia fusebox, all are good with power.

Where should I look next?

I know I am a little low on refrigerant, but was going to address that when I know I had good air thru the coil/vents.

Thanks,

Angelo

Any thoughts on where to look next? I REALLY don't want to run a jumper wire to the line side of the relay.

Since there seems to be very limited help here, are there any other Jag forums around?

Thanks,
Angelo

Found the problem after purchasing wiring diagrams and tracing the circuit back to the fuse box. Found a connector that was compromised near the left foot plastic kick panel, not on diagram. Fixed connection, now have A/C for other half.

Posted this for others that may be in need of this info.
