2000 XKR coupe
Hello,
Its been a while since I've owned another Jaguar. So I just purchased a 2000 XKR coupe with 99k miles from a auction site unseen, great body interior. I believe the tensor/timing chain failed. what would be the quickest way to confirm the problem. I have a new battery, it does not crank just a loud noise like a metal sound, then it rotated once only almost could it be the starter I wish..... Put the key in and clunk only no rotation. I have no history on the car but for $2k its worth it in parts but I would like to fix it reasonably if possible.
Any sound advise,
Thanks Bob

You're almost on the right forum, but the engine is the same. Remove the cam covers and check the timing chains and tensioners. If they look okay maybe a connecting rod.
