Default 2001 XJ8 Fuel line re-connect to back of tank

Please HELP.

I just changed out the fuel pump in my 2001xj8. While I was removing the tank, one of the fuel lines came loose out of the back of the tank. There was enough room for me to then to manipulate the tank so I was able to get inside the tank to replace the fuel pump. I cannot reach behind to tank to re-connect the fule line that came loose. It looks like it just presses back in, I just can't get my big mitts in there to re-connect it. Any suggestions.

It's a case of jack and jack stands.

Lift the rear of the car and put it on stands, so you can get to the loose pipe from under the car. If your arms are long/thin enough you can shove the pipe back into it's one way connector. A torch helps to see up there.

Last time I did it, I used a light smear of dish soap on the end, steady pressure and you should hear a click as it goes all the way home.

Hehe, sounds easy, it's not. Good luck!
