I am trying to get a replacement key and fob for my 2001 xj8 and got a couple of replacements but the key portion was too short. does anyone have the part number for the replacements? I was hoping to get the single key and fob instead of the 2 part system. I searched the forums and there were some from ebay but was the 2 part.

There are locksmiths in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area which can help -- don't believe a single Fob/key system is available since X308 use a keyed ignition system . . .

 

The X308 uses a TIBBE key with 8 slot, 3 cuts.
The 'switchblade' keys are 6 slot 4 cut TIBBE.

SONE (forum member) sells keys and will cut them to your locks.
Configuration is on you.

Just send a pic of the key or just tell him the cuts.
Here is a paper TSB I created about 20 years ago from a paper document we got when I worked at the dealer.

If you can get some keys cut, I can configure them to the car. (Bring a 12 pack)
ALL KEYS MUST BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF CONFIGURATION. Any keys NOT present will be deleted.

I am about 60 miles from Dallas.

 

Single key replacement can be done easily by contacting an auto locksmith expert.

 

Howdy, I am in the Garland/Dallas area and wanted to see if you still copied 2005 Jaguar S-type (Tibee) keys. I have three blanks and depending on the price, would probably go with two or maybe three at a time. I have the key with the transponder that starts the car but I need to get at least one spare that will also start the car. You both cut and program keys? If so, if I provided the blanks, what with the charge for two keys be and then what with the charge for three keys be? Thanks!

 

I DO NOT CUT KEYS.

A member SONE on this forum did cut keys (he cut some for me) but he is in someplace like Nevada or Utah?
He cut them and mailed them to me.

I can CONFIGURE keys but not cut them.
