2002 XJ8 won't start

Does the 2002 XJ8 have any of the Bore Wash issues that my 2000 did? or did they stop the nycasil(s/p) linings by then?

2002 had steel cylinder liners. I think the last nikisil were produced July/August 2000.

But you can still have a bore wash problem, just not as common. Check the compression.
